The recent strong expansion of anaerobic digestion plants for the treatment of OFMSW, particularly in the Central South, a part is given, is significantly reducing the so-called “waste tourism”, in favor of better environmental and economic sustainability, however it begins, on the other, to create some difficulties in feeding plants in the North, which have so far been able to count on abundant flows from regions with insufficient treatment capacity.
The use of sewage sludge in combination with OFMSW could represent a possibility to better saturate the anaerobic digestion plants.
We are dedicating two webinars to this topic:
- OFMSW and sewage sludge for biomethane: two complementary feed stocks (Thursday 29 June 2023)
- OFMSW and sewage sludge for biomethane: biological aspects of diet modification
